    I think women have been thought of as something to control for a very
    long
    time. Not always, but for a very long time. Some escaped, but not
    many. I think it was hierarchical thinking (religion & political laws),

    with men on top. Things are changing. Women and men are rediscovering
    the
    power of women. It was a woman, Wangari Maathai, who recently won the
    Nobel Peace Prize. And it was for her working for the environment, for
    planting trees. And last year wasn't it a woman lawyer from Iran? I
    remember hearing her acceptance speech. I wept.

    What is the point of it all? Survival.
