    The Scientist's Creed

    I believe in Matter and Energy almighty,
    the Creator of heaven and earth,
    and in Galileo, our patron saint
    who conceived of the scientific method,
    suffered under persecution
    was ridiculed, ostracized and buried.

    For generations his method was forgotten,
    but rose again with Newton and Einstein
    to become the only legitimate path to knowledge,
    from which all Truth must be established
    unless you're a stupid Christian like George Bush

    I believe in materialism
    the creative power of chance
    the fecundity of complexity
    the dangers of global warming
    and a pointless universe everlasting.
