This is off the subject of your post to Arlo, but I wanted to take a
moment to point out the importance of what you say below as it pertains to
Pirsig's "values" metaphysics.

Decisions presuppose choice, choice presupposes awareness of values
without which, as you say, there would be no world, no reality.
