Hi Mark and all;
joe: I do not know when experience becomes meaningful! I watch sporting events. I am impressed by individual accomplishments. I ponder the training and effort required of the participants to raise their skill level. I accept that I can be trained to a greater skilled-participation in what I am attracted to.
When we listen to Mozart, his static patterns give us a Dynamic jolt as we experience the beauty of our static repertoire in SQ-SQ tension/coherence
It's that simple - life lives in the event stream, and at the same time moves closer to DQ. When this process is exceptional, as it is here with Mozart's introduction to his Symphony No. 38 we experience beauty.
Where ever we find such harmony - coherence - tension in a static repertoire we discover ourselves moved to a higher quality state.
All the best,
Mark
joe: i decided to take singing lessons! There is a difference between instrumental and vocal music. For vocal music the player must make the instrument sound while it is still in the carrying case. After 10 years of singing with the local symphonic chorus, I still cannot control my feelings as I practice my bass part. In my 50 years of singing in Church choirs, I am still nervous and tense with anxiety, always sensing an excelllence that is approachable, but not achievable!
Is everything a vibration as Pythagoras proposed with a harmony of spheres? Does the musical octave suggest a template for the harmonies in SQ-SQ tension/coherence? Music is widespread. Is music the vehicle pushing an acceptance and understanding of a MOQ mythos?
I am aware of Ravi Shankar, but I haven't listened to him that much. I am impressed with the Tibetan monks chanting in the octave below middle C.
