Dear Lila Squad:

I apologize if my contrarianism is not taken well, but I wish to vote for
two, because I think they're consolidatable.

5) David L Thomas suggests an interesting discussion into the realities of
power in the Metaphysics of Quality. 8) Horse wishes us to discuss the
efforts of the intellectual classes in facilitating the multinational
corporation's rise to power. These two topics both deal with the
relationship between intellectual legitimacy and social power - which I
feel the Metaphysics of Quality has much to contribute to. Michel
Foucault's contention that knowledge is power seems to pose a direct threat
to Pirsig's contention that society and intellect exist on different
levels. I think, David's and Horse's topics would help resolve this issue
while in a larger discussion of power in theory and reality.

I heartily vote for both - of course if only one can be counted I will vote
for the one among them which recieves the most votes. I feel even if one is
chosen, we will talk about the other one anyway, because their topicality
remains so similar.

                Sincerely,

                        Kev
