Rick, Roger, Matthew and all: Interesting conversation, here's two cents
worth...Rick said to Roger...

[David Buchanan] Hate to be a buttinski, and Roger's probably still
sore, but I swear that I wrote this same paragraph to Roger over a year ago.
Nashida bailed him out of Solipsism jail once, but it seems a repeat
offender. Does the three-strikes rule count in philosophy?

Anyway, I think Matt said it best; "The creation of inorganic order
out of what we can call primordial order is not a victory over DQ at all.
It's the very first victory OF DQ."

Even the big bang stuff was helpful, eh? I was heard a physicist
describe the pre-big bang universe as an infinitely tiny spot of perfect
symmetry, and then that symmetry was tipped off balance - BANG! It all
started to unfold; time, space, matter and energy all emerged out of a
primordial singularity, the ultimate black hole. When asked what tipped that
perfect balance, with an Indian accent, he said "I don't know. God got
bored."

And on a real basic level I'd simply say that chaos just isn't the
same as DQ. DQ is like a perfect emptiness out of which all "things" emerge,
but chaos is just messy "things".

        Thanks for your time. DMB
