Might I suggest that Pirsig selected "Quality" rather than "Good" to avoid
confusion with Plato's "Good". In ZAMM the narrator tells us at some point
that even he had trouble seeing the differences between Phaedrus's Quality
and Plato's Good (at first). I think RMP was just trying to help some
others avoid this same association.
