MD Quality and morality

Friends,
I'll come immediately to the point: Pirsig says that quality is nothing but
morality.
What is the sense, or rather what is the "direction" of this statement?
I think that this proposition means not so much to set an equivalence that
unscrambles Pirsig's theory, as to represent the necessity to modify the
same current concept of morality in the light of MoQ.
Is this the way the thing stands?

Fabio

P.S. I know my English isn't adequate so please, if you have to, correct me!
