The point of minimalistic living is not to simplify life, but rather to
enhance it. A simple home would allow for the use of mind on things rather
than tidying. Rand does appeal to these people because it is simple, but
she appeals due to the intense focus on idividual development. It is her
concentration on self that allows for a spiritual growth, due to minimalism.
  I am a young person, and at one time was very interested and fully emerged
into her teachings, but now i realize she might have missed a step;
appreciation of the complex. If i were to bring this back to Pirsig, all is
good just because it is.
