Mder's

This is a observation on conjunction of three sound bites that floated
through the media during the past few days.

One by Richard Holbrook the US Embassidor to the UN.
One by the current President of South Africa.
And one by a man (I tuned in after his name was given) who reportly has
the highest IQ in the world, but dropped out of college because of
boredom and has supported himself by a series of menial jobs while
trying to write an opus "the history of everything."

All were speaking to the question "What is the greatest problem
currently facing mankind ?"

Holbrook is on record as replying, years before the current conference
in Africa, "HIV/AIDS" siting not just the high mortality rate, but the
overall havoc it creates in all branches of society.

The modern day Sidis was asked the question this way, "What do you think
would be the best job is the world ?"
Without hesitation he replied, " Solving the really difficult problems
facing mankind."
"And what do you think are the most difficult"
And without hesitation he replied, " Understanding the nature of reality."
"What?" what about AIDS, the Middle East crisis, global warming...you
wouldn't work on solving them?"

" Sometimes you have to solve the really difficult problems before you
can go back and solve the others."

Which was clearly focused by the Western worlds response to what the
South African President said at the AIDS conference in Africa which went
something like this, " It is hard to believe that AIDS is caused by such
a tiny little virus..."
The dumbfound response was, "What? how can this man be so ignorant and
irresponsible to suggest that the HIV virus does not CAUSE AIDS. "

Even though he then went on to site all the other factors which
contributes to the spread of the disease all the Western ears and minds
went numb at the "CAUSED" heresy. Whatever his reasons, all he did was
restate the problem in the form " A values the precondition B" or , The
HIV virus values the conditions of:
        ignorance
        poverty
        patriarchal societies
        social and political strife
and the nature of human sexuality when these conditions exist.

Why did he do this? Because when you say "HIV causes AIDS" it tends to
become primarily a medical problem that can and will be solved by
science and technology.
A basic misunderstanding of "the nature of reality." of HIV now.
