Marco,
Thank you for your post. You're right; this was an attack on humanity, not on a country or a belief system. it was an attack on freedom, as the writer of george w's speech put it. I have to apologize if my last post seemed a little insensitive in regard to all the lives lost. believe me, i am praying for relief for all people who have been affected all over the world. Since then i have learned that two mosques in Washington DC have been burned down and that Pakistani cab drivers in NYC have been beaten. This is blind societal values attacking . . . what are they attacking? do they see this as some sort of revenge? As if this would do justice to the people already devastated by this tragedy? Once again, this can be partially blamed on the negative stereotyping of the media in repeatedly accusing Arab countries. But it comes more from simple human ignorance in presupposing Islam to be the root of all these problems, when in actuality it can be seen as a solution to all these problems. the same ignoran
ce that is causing Palestinians and Afghans to rejoice at this is the same ignorance that is causing Americans to unjustifiably attack peaceful Muslims.
