Rick (and Sam),

I have actually replied to Sam privately. (Rick) I take your request and the
tone it is made in a free standing invitation however to openly rip apart the
basis of Christianity, if I had all of the means at my despisal that I
possess in the States, I am pretty sure I could convince you that no such
'Jesus' ever existed (for starters the name Jesus has no Hebrew equivalent,
and is obviously of Greek origin by all accounts).

One of my biggest recourses is a book by the name of Babylon Mystery Religion
, if you care to hunt it down and read it, then respond to me privately, I
would be delighted.

Secondly, there is the fact that the 4 testaments are littered with
contradictions due to their reasons for conception and the fact that they
were written by different authors, in different parts of Rome at different
times -- none of which were named Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John.
The third part of my argument would then by all of the things in the new
testament that just plain don't make sense if you know anything about the
Judaism of the time (such as the San-Hedren requesting Jesus' presence on a
holiday evening, which could NEVER have happened, and the fact that if you
work back the dates on the Jewish calendar it could not have been Passover at
that time anyhow). However, since my copy of the New Testament happens to be
on the other side of the planet (I have very little use of it in Israel) I
cannot make these arguments so concretely as such right now. However, I have
no need to, since over the last few days since I received your post I have
searched out some excellent web recourses that make my arguments for me. If
you would be so good as to read over all of these web pages I believe my
source of doubt will become apparent to you (the first link is the most
important):

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/5195/
http://www.qtm.net/~trowbridge/NT_Hist.htm
http://www.cygnus-study.com/

Having given all that I am now announcing that I'm switching boards to
MOQ_Focus, since it seems to be more my style from what I have read, and
since everyone has twice over now ignored the primary contribution that I've
endeavored to give to this group in preference to quarreling over minor
irrelevancies. For those of you on the other board, I will see you there.
Sam and Rick, I expect you'll respond to me privately.

Happy learning,

Jae Angel

P.S. I might add that the Jesus myth has roots in many primitive cultures
that were spread all over the earth before the solidification of the
conquering Catholic Church. For instance the Cross was the ancient Egyptian
symbol for immortality.
