Mine was something like -3.5 to the left and -7.50 anti-authoritarian. The
thing I like about the test is that it plots historical figures too. A good
way to see where you are in relation to real people, rather that just
slapping a label on yourself. (Proud to be where Ghandi is.) Also is makes
it clear that the simple left-right thing doesn't really work because Stalin
and Ghandi are equally to the left, but to say they are the same is
obviously ridiculous. That would also put Jerry Falwell and the Cato
Institute in the same place, and that's not correct either. We really need
the verticle axis to make sense of these things. It also makes it clear that
left libertarians, even socialist libertarians are not the contradiction
that most people assume.
At the moment I'm toying with the idea that the vertical axis measures
intellectual values and the horizontal axis measures social values.
Thoughts, anyone?
In any case, I hope it provided you with a better assessment. I hope this
political compass thread gets going because I'm anxious to try and work out
some of this in MOQ terms. There's plenty to work with in Lila. You know,
quotes that Platt can ignore, dismiss and forget.
