If you study carefully what Pirsig has to say about science, you'll find
he has very ambivalent attitudes about it.

Fritjof Capra is a physicist and systems theorist. He wrote an influential
book in the 70's called The Tao of Physics which, according to his website, "challenges much of conventional wisdom by demonstrating striking

20th century physics." You would probably groove with this guy. I didn't.

#1 seems to be true, but we can't be sure. No law of physic demands this.

As to #2, C varies depending on the medium light passes through. It goes
fastest in a vacuum. I'm not exactly sure what you are claiming is
absolute here. Are you talking about special relativity?
