Erin,
Even though the post was about america, cultural
indoctrination, induction, brainwashing (call it what
you will) is a world-wide phenomenon, and the price is
patriotism. It is good in the sense that it provides
cultural cohesiveness. There are many bad aspects too
however ... which will pass.
I don't claim to be from an enlightened culture.
... and patriotism is not for me. Waving flags is a
herd thang!
