Elliot:
Is the world a little more compassionate and a little less brutal than it
once was? heretics are no longer stoned, just gawked at. the most henious
criminals may still write their piece and have it read by others (even the
una bomber got his ideas distributed, i think they are actually worth
reading).
Is this utopia impossible? is it closer than it once was?(it is according to
marx, as capitalism and industrialization must come before communism). if
we deny or ignore possibility (reason), then it is impossible. if we can
only measure the current system against maoism and leninism and see how
great it is, then it is impossible. If we can envision for a greater future
and work ourselves personally towards it, then weve got something. but some
one once said (i forget who): "The socialists may win, but socialism never"
best of luck in your personal projects,
Elliot
