Actually Pirsig did write something new, it is simply that you are not
recognizing it as new due to some specifically personal factors of your own.
The explanation of why you react to Pirsig the way you do is something to do
with what ideas have shaped you before you encountered Pirsig.
What is new is the idea that Quality is a word for the Tao. That simple act
is very new and it's implications for transforming a whole series of other
ideas, theories, maps, etc is incredibly new. I am sorry you are missing
out on being able to see the difference. Nothing you have written has shown
that you get the newness and significance of using the term "Quality". But,
that is your problem and not ours, to put things into the style of your
posts.
