If you mean by "heuristic" what my dictionary says, "encouraging a
student to discover for himself," then I agree everything is a heuristic. Or
to put it another way, everyone must decide for himself what is a good
truth and what is not a good truth based on what he decides is a quality
intellectual pattern, and then be prepared to live with the consequences.
One of the problems with a welfare state social pattern is that
individuals are protected from the results of their bad "truth" decisions
which inevitably leads to a perpetual underclass of nonachievers. But I
ramble.
