Yes, but here is where experience comes into play. It seems to me that
religious belief can be a high quality experience. Belief in evolution
results in a neutral experience at best.

I too abhor this kind of circular reasoning. I recommend C.S. Lewis'
"Mere Christianity". He takes an indefinable "difference between right
and wrong", not unlike Quality, and proves, to my satisfaction anyway,
that there is a God.
