RE: MD Creationism.

Is this Sabbath, then, something akin to a time-out from the bustle of the
world, a time for spiritual attention and practice? If this is what you are
saying, well then, yes, evolutionary theory doesn't provide for it. But, if
I understand you correctly, one could have such a Sabbath without believing
in 'creationism,' no?

Best regards,
Lawry

I'd become convinced that Christ is Lord through a combination of
religious experience a la William James, and reading C.S. Lewis' "Mere
Christianity" (who, in fairness it must be pointed out, was an
evolutionist). Through reading the New Testament, and having previously
lived with my sister and her Jewish husband-to-be, I was already convinced
that the Old Testament Sabbath still applied. I began attending SDA
services, and one week decided that I would for the first time "keep" the
upcoming Sabbath.
To keep a long story short, that Friday evening just before sunset, I was
actively tempted by a close friend to take part in a sporting activity I
had not participated in with him for a year or more, rather than read my
Bible and/or listen to Christian radio as I had been planning. So through
temptation I was convinced -- why else would I be tempted so?
I of course know this proves neither the Sabbath or Creation, but these
things are satisfying to me in a way I cannot imagine belief in Evolution
could be for anyone. A lot of Sabbatarians try to beat people over the
head with its "correctness". My approach, on the other hand, is more akin
to "try it, you'll like it".
