Squonk,
> I would advise that people leave Wilber well alone ...
Most all here are aware your dislike of Wilbur's work, but the
rhetorical question is: "How does one...?"
> go straight to the manifold sources that he reflects.
... without at least skimming Wilbur's work to see what those sources
are ?"
> Wilber is little more than an anthology of other people's work.
Some, like the Oxford metaphycian Strawson, have the same opinion of
Pirsig's work. But even if that is what they both are, they are of
great value on that basis alone.
The point is the Pirsig, Wilbur, Einstein, and Eddington all come to
very similar conclusions: Namely, that it is a mistake to apply the laws
or morals of one domain or level of experience, say science, to that of
another like religion. No amount of squeezing oranges will yield apple
juice. Herein lies most of the confusion and misunderstanding on both
sides of the creationism, "intelligent design" issue.
