Hi Bo,
Sleep is behaviour.
We need to behave in this way as we need to behave in ways that we find
nutritious.
Sleep is an active state just as eating is an active state.
As far as sleep and consciousness are concerned, i suspect sleep is
unpatterned and of high quality? Wakefulness is more of an illusion than
anything, but i should imagine scientists would find that rather odd?
