Hi Rod,
I have experienced difficulties with terms like soul and spirit also.
I feel there is a background from which structures emerge and are expressions
of what we mean by soul and spirit.
Plotinus felt statues attracted soul.
Neil Young felt, 'Even Richard Nixon has got soul.'
Maybe soul is something we are and may work to improve?
