Dear Sam,

I was wondering what you think in this context of my suggestion that
'Intellectual evolution can be seen as a process by which weak Dynamic
forces at an individual level discover stratagems for overcoming huge static
social forces at a collective level.'
(Analogous to Pirsig's 'Biological evolution can be seen as a process by
which weak Dynamic forces at a subatomic level discover stratagems for
overcoming huge static inorganic forces at a superatomic level.')

If it is the strategems that are 'intellectual' and if the 'actors' are
'individuals', can't the level be called BOTH 'intellectual' AND
'individual' without much need for bickering?

With friendly greetings,

Wim
