to the Lila squad:

Robert Frost wrote: "there is something about fences that doesn't like a man". i must admit the same feeling about the proposed restrictions to the squad. at first, i said, ok i will go along with whatever they decide is best, but the more i thought about it, the more i felt there was something quite not right about the decision. i will share with you some of my thoughts:

first, is that i have never seen the lila squad as energized as lately when all the new contributors started appearing out of the blue. what happened that made people want to post and be part of the squad? something good was going on at that point...it smacked of dynamic quality. one of the best discussions happened when we argued over mysticism and rationalism...fintan, glove, david, platt, mary, horse, jonathan, and others became more than emails...they became true voices reflecting their humanity. now, of course, we need the two counterbalancing each other. if we didn't have static quality we wouldn't be able to understand and appreciate the dynamism that we encountered. but, i think that we are closing the door to vital energy if we insist on taking the squad back to what it was before.

second, i don't believe you can ever truly go back to what things were like before. you can't step into the same river twice. the new members are part of the squad whether you like it or not. and what is wrong with some socializing? my god, it is being spoken of as if it were a token of innefectuality whereas i see it as bringing the squad to life!

third, restricting emails and what people can say on them goes against everything the internet stands for. the freedom of the net is one of the things that appealed to me when i first discovered it. i thought, how wonderful to have a place where one could be oneself...and as we all know the path to oneself is the hardest thing to undertake in this life. yet, here was a place that allowed you such exploration. are we in the lila squad going to take this intrinsical freedom away because some of the old members want things back the way they were?

my answer is no. and for those who agree with me, my suggestion is that we start a new group called the Lilaqs where we can take the path to ourselves without restrictions and allow dynamic quality to visit whenever it wants. if you are interested, you can email me privately and see if we can get started.

this is both my one email a day and my response before the 24th regarding the new rules and regulations.

thoughtfully respectful but dynamically inspired,

Lithien
