hi, bodvar, you said:

There has been talk of Pirsig not being original (Lithien hints to
Nietszche)

lithien:

you must know by now, that i am not much of a hinter....my mentioning
Nietzsche was solely on the similarity between Dynamic Quality and what he
calls the Dyonisiac experience which is the tapping of the source of all
artistic expression...an uncontrollable and wild yet enticing and inspiring
energy which exists outside of us. Conversely, the Apollonian is the
imposed order on this frenzied explosion of inspiration so humans can make
sense of it all.

your interpretation that i was alluding to Pirsig not being original is
wrong. what i do think is that all of us draw upon previous bodies of
learning that have come before us and reconstruct them to fit our own
reality. in that way, Pirsig, as he admits, drew from many others.

my point was that there seems to be a similarity between many of the sources
that i have learned from: Campbell, Nietzsche, Jung, Zen, and Pirsig. they
seem to be pointing to the same thing: Dynamic Quality. some may quibble
at the finer points but overall they are all the same thing with different
names.
