i remember reading about Malthus and his dire predictions about population
explosion and everything turned out alright. why? because we cannot
predict the future. as impossible as some ideas seem to us right now, they
may be very feasible and plausible in the near future. for instance, who
knows if space travel will be a possibility and we will colonize other
habitable planets in other galaxies.
and what about the Aids virus? what if it were to decimate our populations
and only those who would be immune to it would survive. then we would have
to start all over again from scratch. there are so many variables that its
inconceivable.
as you can see i'm an optimist,
