Struan
You remind me of the hecklers of the Muppet Show. Sitting in the
front balcony shouting and pestering the performers. Maggie delivers
a splendid MOQ analysis of the Islam/West conflict and gets a
treatment; then you apologize and start adding insult to injury.

What strange accusations. You claim that Pirsig's version of it causes
harmful stereotypes, how this can be is a riddle to me, and you cannot
have grasped the first thing about the MOQ to say so. Pirsig has
received scorn from "the intellectuals" for his pointing out that the
Social restraint of Islam is not necessarily "evil", now you turn it
on its head and ....

But wait a minute; at this moment it dawns on me that you
possibly are just such an intellectual Pirsig-basher. Not
understanding the MOQ, and not having the slightest intention of
doing an effort in that direction, but vaguely sensing that Pirsig
undermines the correct "political" definition of history.

What people and regions of this earth has not been "exploited" by
someone else at some time in history without it causing such
long-lasting and intensifying grief. No, I think only the Social vs
Intellect conflict gives credibility to that, as it does to most of
what has happened in the past....along with a hope of solving it.

I really wonder about you - Struan. What good do you see in Pirsig's
ideas at all? After the "Theo Schramm" performance you disappeared
and made a great show over at the Sci Phil Meta. of refuting Pirsig.
Now you are back again delivering a few "credentials" of the
value of the MOQ, but soon flaunting how much better Mr Hellier
knows, and how wrongly Pirsig has understood it all. Most of the
squad hate the unpleasantness that results from contradicting you, I
do so too, but it would soon exhaust our resources to have you
roaming freely picking on this and that - not because it
misinterprets Pirsig, but for being in disagreement with Struan
Hellier's philosophy. I suggest that you remove yourself to sites
that are for such activities.
