David T. and squad,
  Off the top of my head I thank you for your enlightening information on
the WW11 situation. It fits neatly into my concept of the conditions of the
time. In my mind it makes clear the conditions we were facing at the time.
  I don't hate the Japanese, in fact I have to grudgingly admire them but
bushido is not a good philosophy to face when one is sitting ringed around
Japan. We did what we had to do to win the war and I still think that
dropping the bomb was the most moral course we could take under the
circumstances. Ken Clark
