The word God, regardless of proof or faith is SQ -- yes
As to the origin of the word god (and the use), it is for
us merely historic and highly variable and not at base
in usage gender delimited as superior or inferior, save
in exclusive masculine post-Christian use.
(e.g. goddess=god historically)
Currently however, it IS pretty much gendered.
