Hi Horse,
I think you have successfully shown to us that you did not try to pass
off Struan's essay as your own, and that you got his blessing to
place it on the moq site. The evidence for this lies in the archives
and in the private mailings between you and Struan that you laid out
for us in your last post. However the issue is not closed because for
the people not associated with this site who link to Struan's essay,
such as is the case when the referrer is a search engine, authorship
is not readily established. The only citation is "moq.org" at the bottom.
It is unreasonable to expect that such transients will bother to find
and read the pertinent posts on the site that reveal the authorship.
This is unfair to the author. The due acknowledgment necessary to
completely avoid the charge of plagiarism is to cite the author
*properly* - within the essay. Either that or remove the essay from the
moq site.
