    Your question was: "Does Pirsig not ever mention love?" Yes he does. Let's
    leave it at that since you seem to feel some parts of Lila are not worthy of
    discussion.

    Of course. In fact it's been my experience many artists do not consider
    themselves artists at all. But they all love what they do.

    Have you ever been in love? I have, but I cannot tell you what love is. Oh
    sure, I could burst into song or spout poetic but all that's doing is
    sharing with others what love is like, not what love is. Why should RMP be
    expected to know? I don't think that's any reason to throw out his books.
