    David, Matt,

ZMM does turn up as a "perennial" best seller on many different lists,
so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. (I hear it still regularly
    sells 100,000 copies a year.)

As to why Canada, why now - apart from there being a detectable level
of academic interest in the subject matter - there may have been
stimulation for the book itself after Mark Richardson of the Toronto
Star wrote about ZMM in a couple of his articles last year, when he
did his own ZMM trip, and this year again as his own book is nearing
    publication. Just guessing.
