Hi
I find the more I admit I'm wrong the more hugs I get,
sometimes I admit it even when I'm probably right.
The absurd mountain top is a lonely place.
But, of course, Pirsig withdrew more and more
because he was not willing to accept everyone else's
limited perspective. But, of course, he tried to engage
first, with appalling results for himself in an institution.
But by some miracle the times found his ZAMM,
& more recently I discovered it and Lila. But I do not
know many people at the moment that could grasp
either. The dumbing down article in forum seems sadly
correct. Does a university education teach anyone to
think these days?

Hi DM,
I have tried to engage Scott but it's not been easy. The door was slammed in my face, in the same way that anyone who lives in fear slams the door against a perceived threat. The basis of this threat is to social status; if one feels admitting one is in error is to lose social status, then one may be driven to climb increasing heights of absurdity to defend the indefensible. It may be that such an individual eventually ends up on the top of Everest?
All the best,
squonk :)
