Think long and hard about random mutations and
natural selection, is it really convincing?
The more I know about just the workings of the human
body, the more it impresses me as an incredible piece
of technology, makes human conscious technology look
amateur. Read any biology book they cannot help themselves
from referring constantly to the purpose of this organ, this system,
but there is no purpose or cunning in natural selection only elimination
of error. I do not suggest design, but I cannot help suspecting that we are
currently in the dark about how biology is able to construct life forrms.
How does information about the environment and form of life get passed
from adult to child? How are the life/body-form patterns connected to genes,
are genes less of a machine and more of a tool for more complex organising
systems. Rupart Sheldrake's New Science of Life is good at raising questions
about the possible problems with current natural selection orthodoxy.
