We never give away our responsibility...
The defense of "I vas chust doink my chob." failed
in the post WW-II trials for those who worked the camps.

I have always found in my jobs that the way a 'boss' worked
was to say that the goal of the work was to accomplish 'X'
and the question of how to get it done was usually left to the
people actually doing the work. We had the choice to act in
a moral manner. Most people I worked with were very much
committed to egalitarian treatment of one another, moral
actions, and not excessively wasting their time.

In the normal working environment the employee can
exercise the "I quit!", option when something is in danger
    of becomning unacceptable.
