Hi all,
I recently bought the book "Guidebook to: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle
Maintaniance" by Ronald Disanto and Thomas Steele. I found that in the book
there was a list of subjects for discussion about ZMM.
The following was my favorite topic:
Read the "Authors Note" right after the title page.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
"What follows is based on acrual occurences. Although much has been changed
for rhetorical purposes, it should be regarded in its essence as fact.
However, it should in no way be associated with that great body of
information relating to orthodox Zen Buddhist practice. It's not very
factual on motorcycles, either."
What does "rhetorical" mean? Now read the epigraph on the next page.
"And what is good, Phaedrus,
And what is not good-
Need we ask anyone to tell us these things?"
It is Plato's dialogue called THE PHAEDRUS. How would you answer the
question it asks?
.
That is my topic, Thanks for reading it.
