Jonathan and fellow MoQers,
Your post is powerful and though there are a few points I'd like to take
issue with, I will refrain from doing so until after the vote. I'd hate to
jump the gun on a potential 'topic of the month' (if it isn't selected I'll
reply to this post in full in the MD forum); but I hope it's selected by the
group because I believe until this issue is 'firmly' resolved, the rest of
our discussions will be essentially pointless.
For now, I'll simply say that the charge of masked emotivism in the MoQ
is one I make only because I genuinely believe that it can be fixed... If
the truth be told, I (and others, I'm sure) see holes and contradictions all
over LILA and the MoQ... but I believe we "labor" in this group because we
suspect that the holes can be plugged, the contradictions dissolved, and the
MoQ salvaged. Unlike the Skeptic to whom you referred at the beginning of
your post, I point out weak spots in the MoQ not to tear it down, but to
expose them so they can explored and repaired and the system ultimately
strengthened...
Now, if we could just get rid of all this dirty bathwater without losing
the baby....
It's all Good,
Rick
