  I wholly agree with this statement. Usually I just sit back and watch the
squad tie itself into intellectual knots over simple matters -- this is largely
due to making a simple theory extemely complex and justifying it in any
circumstance. I think Pirsig's idea of good being just good, is the fact that
the entire quality idea is very simple, and he spent pages and pages justifying
something that came down to a few sentences at the end of his struggle. "It
just is" (this is my own rationalisation)-- and therefore the entire meaning is
contained in that sentence, it leaves nothing undone or to be desired, it simply
justifies itself. You can either look as intelligence as a burden or a gift,
but in the end, intelligence "just is", and as with anything, there are two
sides of the coin that make the whole.
