Squad,
In response to the question:
Explain why the Dynamic is more moral than the static.
The MOQ is a moral hierarchy, it says that the physical nature of the universe
is also its moral nature. A hierarchy is a system in which things are arranged
according to status. In the case of the MOQ, that status is based on morality.
The things that are more moral we call dynamic. So it's tautology. If dynamic wasn't
more moral then it wouldn't be dynamic.
So the question becomes, what justification is there that reality is a moral hierarchy?
Pirsig's answer is Logical Positivism - all knowledge must come from experience.
Value is empirically verifiable. Everyone who sits on the hot stove experiences low
value, so there's your overwhelming evidence and rational basis for accepting it.
No, we don't all agree on the things in which quality inheres, but that's a different point.
