MF donkey's bridges

people,

metaphors are bridges. If you can cross them, they carry you from one point
of view to another. (even donkeys which are good in striving (for carrots)
but often wear blindfolds.)

a bridge has two fundaments and a link which connects these.

If you walk over too many bridges, you might easily forget where you started
in the beginning. If you hang out in your one horse town, you are restricted
to one valley of thought your whole life.

to set up a fundament one needs concrete as substance and f.e. wooden planks
to manifest the concrete, but only in the beginning. The wooden Planks, your
hands and heart have become hard. also one needs an good place, a location
where the fundament does not think into the ground :), and WHICH IS not to
far nor to near to other fundaments.

if you walk over a good bridge, which is made out ot wood and movable, you
come closer to heaven, while walking, and you can see for miles. to see
where you are and where you have been, at least us people in the west take
notes and mark certain places.

But could it be that after a while, when the surveyor takes the old notes
and compares them to the status quo, she will find that the fundaments have
moved and the journey she made is a different story in looking back.

then she will go out and kneel down in wonder and will sense that the grass
is warm.

Mark:

thank You for Your excerpts from the dictionary. I found one as well -

The term metaphysics, as used by one school of philosophers, is narrowed
down to mean the science of mental phenomena and of the laws of mind. In
this sense, it is employed, for instance, by Hamilton ("Lectures on
Metaph.", Lect. VII) as synonynous with psychology (In further development
the author states, that this assumption which leads in his opinion back to
Descartes is wrong)
... and when psychology comes into play and you relate: metaphors,
metaphysics, psychology and perspectives to the little scenery which
occured this morning in my head - then things get spongy/dynamic.

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10226a.htm#II (this is from the encyclopedia
of the catholic church)

I am aware that we are in SOM land here, but people, namely Struan and John
Beasley say that there is nothing like a S/O Metaphysic anyway. I leave this
open, with a lot of doubts and unfinished threads. The more I go into that
thing the more there is to find out - but the good insights come anyway
(from unexpected directions).

I must withdraw now into my seclusive little cavish, Rock and Roll shop and
think about: " Is this spongy feeling degeneracy (that is I do not know what
I am talking about) or Dynamic Quality (that is getting hold of impressions
located at the borderline to the unexperienced).

the news is: If You are not sure go the hard way.

Am I reinventing gun powder here ?

Am I still thinking in SOM terms ?

But what we have this month - is space. Which I use partly to check on what
is going on, partly to check what I think, from a point of view before we
started talking about metaphors and partly how to get around Magnus sharp
eye.

But some questions/comments to:

Bodvar:

What are You trying to tell me in Your p.s. ?

there are several value patterns related to the word 'sinn'. Yours is right
too. I'd say that metaphor /'Sinnbild' is a mental picture which helps to
remember, what it relates to, by touching your head and your heart. One can
walk over bridges with all of her senses.

All:
What I found in this month discussion is that we are chasing ghosts which
are winds of ideas already defined and taken care of. (as f. e. in Rich
Pettis article in moq.org which answers the question: What is the
metaphysics of quality)
Suddenly I found that I could write about everything - and nothing. That is
when one can say that the complete book is a metaphor.

No wonder that Diana came up with basics. (but at least for me it is good to
check on the alphabet of the moq)

Thanx for reading and even more for responding,

I need You, Andreas
