Hi Folks

The posts received in December relating to the MF list - about 20 of them - can be found at:
http://alt.venus.co.uk/hypermail/moq_focus/0112

Anyway, continuing from my previous post:

For various reasons the MF list is failing and as such needs to be revitalised if is to continue.
Some members feel that an alternative to MD is necessary because of:

- the high level of mail in MD
- limited time to particpate
- no static latching is apparent in MD (or MF for that matter)
- limited knowledge of newcomers to the discussion
- lack of focus
- thread titles do not relate to content or discussion

and would like to participate in a forum which addresses and rectifies these problems.

Suggestions by members as to the attributes that the MF list should possess are:

- limit the amount of noise in a discussion
- focus on the subjects(s) under discussion
- provide some sort of summary of a discussion
- better way of choosing subjects to discuss
- change moderators role
- stimulate the dynamic nature of the list
- accurate thread titles that relate to content
- clear rules of procedure
- some sort of FAQ resource

Some other things that need to be decided are:
- should the list be moderated
- should the number of posts per day be limited
- how is it decided that a post is on or off topic

Marco suggested a possible format for MF in his post:
http://alt.venus.co.uk/hypermail/moq_focus/0112/0006.html

Roger asked if other members would be prepared to help in order to get a better system up and
going and received offers from 3 members. Assuming that Rog would also be prepared to throw
in a few hours a month as well and including the current committee members that makes 8
persons who are willing to actively participate and provide time to revive the list.

So having provided some idea of the negative aspects of MD and what would be useful in the MF
list could we spend some time working out how the revival of MF could be achieved. It seems that
there are a number of people who do want the list to work so there should be enough incentive.
We could start by looking at Marco's suggestions and work out from there.

PS to Killerblade (cool name btw)

Considering the bad-mouthing from yerself I'll be expecting some _serious_ input from you. If not
then quit whining or piss off.
