Just a few thoughts here, sort of picking up where I finished last
time... If we can think of the 5th level as a radical expansion of
consciousness or a creative post-rational mind...
Its seems natural to think that the future will look more like to best
today has to offer. That is to say, the creative genius of today is
tomorrow's regular guy. We follow those who are ahead of their time.
Creativity and originality are the hallmarks of genius. They practically
define genius. Intellect is about precision and mastery.
When the 5th level is realized, genius will be the standard. Everyone
will be capable of creative and original thoughts.
The deepest aspects of our consciousness will be called into play and
further developed by this new genius-mind. That is to say, it'll have a
great appreciation for and improved relationship with the lower levels
as they are expressed in the conscious, unconscious and subconscious
minds. The 5th level will represent a more effective integration of
lower level values. Each person wil be their own psychotherapist and
storyteller. It'll be able to look inward as well as outward, so to
speak.
And let us not forget the higher capacities that aren't biological,
social or intellectual: sympathy, empathy, compassion, spirituality,
love and artistry. They will be more highly evolved when the 5th level
is realize. Each person will trip on Sundays. :-}
All the women will be strong, the men will be good-looking and all the
children will be above average. (OK, so that's the desciription of the
fictional Lake Woe-be-gone, Minnesota. But it's better than ending with
a prediction that the meek will inherit the Earth.)

P.S. I read a great analogy the other day. Its about the method much
more than the topic.... "An artist or intellectual who is not willing to
hurt someone's feelings is no more effective than a fireman who is not
willing to break a window." Uh, oh! Have I invited citicism or what? Go
ahead and brake some windows. Kick the door down if you have to. But
just make sure you're really trying to save the house, otherwise its
just vandalism.
