Hello Squad,
I've been lurking for a while now so maybe it's time I contributed. The Free
Will/Determinism and the Nature/Nuture debate has an aspect to it that seems
to have been overlooked. That is that they're both intellectual patters of
value in themselves, they're ideas! I wouldn't see them as having any
reality apart from that. I'd say the the concepts of free will/determinism
and nature/nurture are concepts we use because they're useful, and to try to
decide which one if any is 'right' is impossible because the discussion is
about a static intellectual pattern of values and not about reality itself.
Wouldn't the MOQ answer surely be 'Mu'?
Phil.
