In response to Doug Renselle's question about where the quantum level
should be placed in MOQ, I think Pirsig includes it within the inorganic
level even though he talks about it separately.

First, he states flatly at the beginning of Chapter 12 of "Lila" that the
four levels include everything. "If you construct an encyclopedia of four
topics -- Inorganic, Biological, Social and Intellectual -- nothing is left
out." Second, the quantum level exhibits the same, intrinsic "pattern of
preferences" (to exist or disappear) that marks all four levels. Third,
when you start to subdivide the levels, you begin to lose the elegant
simplicity of Pirsig's theory which, perhaps more than any other factor,
points to its truth.

So, for what it's worth, my vote would be to include the quantum in the
inorganic level.
