LS Retrospect

Hello Friends,
It has been some time since I've posted, but during the interlude I've
been
attentively observing the lively exchange on each of the most recent
threads. Taking a passive position has provided some interesting
perspective and insight into each person's unique thought process.
Please
allow me to elaborate...

Magnus's "social robots" have cleverly shaken up my somewhat complacent
and
comfortable intellectual patterns (reminiscent of Pirsig's
old-tea/new-tea
anecdote) and provided a much needed impetus to move forward and
formulate
new questions. Thank you!

The time "away" from the list has also allowed me to realize the
importance
of Bodvar's adamant and sometimes rigid support of the core of the MoQ.
Without his "static latching," the well intended "progress" suggested
by
myself and others may have quickly degenerated into uncontrolled chaos.
I'm glad that we have someone that we can count on to keep us firmly
rooted in the fundamentals. ;)

Platt's contributions to the list have been truly amazing. I anxiously
await the wisdom shared in each of his posts. "The Big Now" is the most
stunning extension of the MoQ that I've encountered since reading
Bodvar's
treatise.

Finally, I join with the others in extending a big THANK YOU to Diana
for
the work that she has done in making this forum possible. This is truly
an
accomplishment that all of us will never forget!

In closing, I'd just like to share one final thought. Much of the (very
fruitful and sometimes frustrating) discussion that has taken place on
the
list has centered around an apparent ambiguity in our understanding of
each
of the four static levels. Based on the impressive grasp of Pirsig's
work
that I have seen demonstrated in each of your posts, I would love to
hear
each person's own attempt at a set of "definitions" and/or criteria that
might distinguish phenomena in each level.

Looking forward to your responses...
Jason
