Congratulations Diana, even if you forget Cantonese, that mail from Pirsig leaves
you with a great achievement.
It seems, that value of a chair is in the eye of the beholder, and it’s not practical,
IMO, to try to sort values by patterns in general. The boundaries are fuzzy anyway
and levels were heavily ‘mediated’ (thanks, Maggie). Instead, we should learn to
use the value diagram to help us to ‘do the right thing’ when value patterns are
in conflict, which happens in every step: watch TV or read a book; read a book or
play a silly game with your child so she/he will not watch TV, etc.
Bo, I don’t think there is any distinction between MOQ intellect and SOM mind. Both
terms denote the same product of DQ. You said yourself >that seen from within, any
level fills every nook of the universe<, but by putting Intellect into >another dimension<
we would deny DQ to other levels. I like Magnus’ idea of life as a DQ of biological
variety. May be we should view the value diagram as seen from above with the DQ as
a shimmering foundation permeating every other pattern. I guess, riots, revolutions,
parlamentary debates would be the DQ events of social level then. What would be the
DQ of inorganic level?
