First for Diana: I have written (several days ago now) to Pirsig
to ask about Maggie's idea of printing excerpts from LILA, and about
making an index to both books. Also, I am slaving away at my version
of "Principia Qualitaetis" -- and the rest of the FAQ.

Second: A warm welcome to Anthony McWatt and Steve Wilson
(I know that Anthony has a considerable collection of Pirsig letters,
that may be a valuable source for information).

Last but not least for Magnus!
Congratulations on the "Classicist.." piece. I didn't know that
you have had such a brainstorming all the time through the LS short
life. Yes, yours is definitely the classical approach, but I follow
every step of your reasoning. Also, it is good to see how Pirsig's
own formulations come out in the end as the best after you had raked
your brains for anything better. Guess I am a kind of classicist too
and have tried many reasonings to come to grips with the quality
idea, but I recognize a better one when I see it. I must also
say that you write very well, I felt I was reading a essay out of
the TIME magazine. This will be a "classics" in the Quality Library.
Take a bow Magnus! (Grattis!)

Bo
