Hi LS & Doug-

Absolutely, we can! But, it'll have to wait until the weekend, as I have all
of 5 minutes right now... Around 8 or 9 years ago, I became so absorbed in
the issue of free will vs. determinism that I actually lost sleep over it. Of
course, there wasn't much of an Internet to speak of back then (to host great
discussion groups like this one), and I finally just said, "to hell with
it..." and basically adopted an agnostic perspective on some of the basic
philosophical issues--i.e., free will vs. determinism, God's existence, etc.
As I recall, my official position on these issues was that humans are simply
limited as to what they can understand. Anyway, you also asked many
questions (i.e., about the phrase, "prefers precondition..." etc.), which I'll
try to address soon.
