Diana and Squad,
I am off for a couple of weeks vacation (from what?). We will be fifth
wheeling around the north central states. A couple of babes in the woods
-
completely lacking experience with trailers - wish us luck.
I will miss the remainder of the debate. For the record I favor the
school of thought that considers the operation of the MOQ as a continuum
that does not have a hard division between the SPoVs, DQ, and SQ. I
think
this is true for both the un-cool and the cool phases of the MOQ.
I regard the un-cool phase of the MOQ (which is still operating) as
the
result of the physical conditions that resulted from the fall-out of
energetics from the big bang as modified by Chaos and Complexity Theory
plus the influence of the gradual build-up of static information content
in
the physical universe. This phase originated deterministically but is
effectively non-deterministic due to complexity and operates circularly
(SPoV-Dynamic Quality-Static Quality-SPov, etc.) in an overlapping
continuum.
I regard the cool phase of the MOQ as having resulted from the
introduction of sentience due to the workings of the un-cool phase of
the
MOQ. This cool phase resulted in the ability of sentient beings (us) to
modify the workings of the un-cool MOQ and thus have an impact on the
direction in which the un-cool MOQ is now taking as opposed to the
direction it would take if it was unaffected by cool. The cool MOQ also
operates as a continuum.
For this reason I think that there is a need to take into account the
effect of cool MOQ on un-cool MOQ.
This is the line of reasoning that got me hauled before the court of
Lila
and resulted in accusations most foul of splitting the MOQ and sullying
the
purity of Pirsig's original concept of the MOQ.
I am sticking to my conception of the MOQ and standing on that great
tradition of intellectual freedom that is the result of the cool MOQ,
and
possible also its downfall.
At the same time I will defend to the death your right to your own
opinion even though it is stupid and wrong headed.
Wish me luck with the fifth wheeler. Ken Clark
